Ararat Farm Newsletter November 2023

Hello Everyone,

We hope that you have had a wonderful fall and a blessed Thanksgiving. We have had so much to be thankful for this year. The continued growth on the farm and the Lord’s faithfulness with health of animals and even when grazing was lean due to rain the animal still did well. We are most thankful for all the wonderful customers the Lord continues to send us every year. We really appreciate our faithful return customers and continue to welcome new ones. We are so thankful for all of you! This month’s newsletter will be brief due to the business of deer rifle season and really daily chores slowing down.

Summary for the month November:

  • Winter grazing

  • Finally weeks with Piggies

  • Hunting Season…

  • Apple Season

The Herd

We are in the final grazing season for the cows. With hunting season in full swing moving cows daily has gone down. We have started feeding hay and alternating because of time an we got some wet hay that may not last the winter. The cows are definitely enjoying the alternating eating schedule and still getting to move to new winter grasses.

The Pigs

We are in the final week of the piggies being on the farm. They are fattening up for their one bad day. All the other days for these pigs have been happy and play filled days, or lazy napping days.

Hunting Season

We are currently in the full swing of hunting season. It has been a blessed season of slowing down and reflecting on everything the Lord has blessed us with and His faithfulness.

Apple Canning

Apple Season is coming to a close and it’s always a fun season to add into the schedule. This year we did a lot of applesauce for us personally. Just a little personal aspect that isn’t directly related to farming but still something we do to steward the resources we are blessed with.

With A Thankful Heart

With a thankful heart we will close this month’s newsletter. We are in the season of thanksgiving and moving very quickly into the season of celebration of Our Lord Jesus coming down to be God with Us. It’s a crazy season. Let us now forget the blessed reason we get to celebrate! God’s love for the world He created for His glory! Until next time!
